包豪斯学院于1919年在德国的魏玛成立，其对现代设计教育与实践有着极其深远的影响。1921年开始的“舞台工作坊”是历史上包豪斯教学的重要组成部分。奥斯卡·施莱默（Oskar Schlemmer）在1923年到1929年间亲自指导了包豪斯学校的舞台工作坊，将其发展成了一种空间造型的应用型、表演型教育项目，舞台训练成为独一无二的针对设计师和建筑师的拓展课程。该课程并非以培养制作人、演员和舞者为目标，而是通过和材料与空间的互动，借助舞蹈般的运动练习来丰富学生的感官体验，培养空间塑造者。在施莱默创建的实验性教学环境中，舞台和表演成为了全面探索“空间和形式产生”、“人和空间关系”的重要媒介。

Bauhaus was founded in Weimar, Germany in 1919. It has a profound influence on modern design education and practice. The Stage Workshop, which began in 1921, is an important part of Bauhaus teaching in history. Oskar Schlemmer directed the stage workshop in person at Bauhaus between 1923 and 1929, developing it into a kind of applied, performing education programme for space creation, in which stage training had become a unique extensive curriculum specially for designers and architects. The aim here was not to turn the students into producers, actors or dancers, but rather, to enriches students' sensory experience and cultivate space creators through interacting with material and space and using the dance-movement exercises. In the experimental pedagogical environment created by Schlemmer, stage and performance had become an important medium to explore the creation of Space and Form and the relationship between Man and Space.

2017年11月至2018年4月，中国美术学院中国国际设计博物馆与包豪斯德绍基金会共同开展了重新发掘“包豪斯舞台”当代价值的联合研究与创作，该项目以博物馆公共教育工作坊的方式进行，其成果《象棚：包豪斯人物空间剧场》（学术名称“象棚：人物空间壁橱”）于2018年4月在中国国际设计博物馆新馆开馆典礼上公演，并计划参与2019年于德国德绍进行的包豪斯100周年“包豪斯节日总舞台”活动。该项目之目标是促进对包豪斯舞台教学法和当今建筑、设计、艺术教育以及表演研究的进一步思考，并建立应用研究的长期合作机制。该项目由中国国际设计博物馆研究部主任张春艳、公共教育部主任刘一蓝组织策划，中国美术学院建筑艺术学院教师胡臻杭与包豪斯德绍基金会高级研究员托斯滕·布鲁姆（Torsten Blume）共同担任艺术指导。

From November 2017 to April 2018, China Design Museum of China Academy of Art and Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau jointly conducted a study and creation to rediscover the contemporary values of the Bauhaus Stage, a project that took the form of museum public education workshops. “Xiang Peng: Bauhaus Figural Space Theatre”  with its academic name “Xiang Peng: Figural Space Cabinet” was presented at the opening ceremony of the new building of China Design Museum in April 2018 and is planning to participate in the Bauhaus100 Anniversary "Bauhaus Festivals Total Stage" event in Dessau, Germany, in 2019. The goal of the project is to promote further reflection on the Bauhaus Stage pedagogy and contemporary architecture, design, art education, and performance research, and to establish a long-term cooperative mechanism for applied research. This project was organized by Zoe Zhang, research director of China Design Museum, and Liu Yilan, public education director of China International Design Museum, and directed by Hu Zhenhang, lecturer of School of Architecture and Art of China Academy of Art, and Torsten Blume, Research Associate of Stiftung Bauhaus Dessa.

基于“实验性考古”的核心理念，中德双方共同提出了工作的主旨“项目将同时回顾历史上的包豪斯舞台实验和中国宋代的传统表演样式，以历史的眼光重新审视二者，探索比较和对话的可能性。该项目将关注包豪斯舞台和宋杂剧的人物形象，并将其作为基本素材和灵感来源，通过舞蹈和其他行动艺术，以当下之视角探索空间的运动性及其设计。该项目旨在通过发展编舞对象（身体延伸、道具、服装部件）来实现一种运动中的空间设计。

Based on the core idea of "Experimental Archaeology", the China and Germany collaborators jointly put forward the gist of the work: “The project will take a historical look-back on the experimental stage workshop of Bauhaus and Chinese traditional performances of the Song Dynasty to other performance art, it will explore the space movements and design from a contemporary perspective. This project aims to realise a type of spatial design in movement through the development of dance objects such as corporal extension, props, and costumes.

本展览旨在向公众展示项目成果以及研究、创作思路，探讨剧场作为设计艺术教育方法的可能性。此展内容系与德绍包豪斯基金会合作工作的成果，谨以此纪念包豪斯百年。

This exhibition aims to show the public the results of the project, as well as research and creation ideas, and explore the possibility of theatre as a method of design and art education. This exhibition is from a collaboration with Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau and it is to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Bauhaus.

历时6年时间的筹建准备，备受国际社会及博物馆界瞩目的中国国际设计博物馆已于2018年4月8日中国美术学院90周年校庆日正式开馆。

中国国际设计博物馆位于中国美术学院象山校区（杭州西湖区转塘镇），毗邻即将投入使用的杭州地铁6号线象山站出口，建筑整体呈现三角形布局，外观主色及材料为印度红色阿格拉砂岩辅以米白色大理石，是西扎现代主义建筑风格和美学典型体现。总建筑面积为1.68万平方米，其中展厅面积6300平方米，库房面积4500平方米，公共教育空间3000平方米，研究空间约1200平方米。配套设施等约2000平方米，博物馆功能齐全，除展厅外，还拥有文献中心、驻馆设计师工作室、儿童工坊、多功能厅、报告厅、设计品商店、咖啡馆/餐厅和屋顶花园及规划中的设计书店等。

如今，中国国际设计博物馆的使命是以建设国际一流设计博物馆作为目标，通过馆藏作品，推出研究性的近现代设计作品展览，揭示设计与生活、艺术、社会、科技发展等的关系；通过教育互动，促进公众对物质文化变迁意义的了解，从而激发本土制造的创造特质，并建立中国的设计价值与产业发展的观察体系；同时，依托中国美术学院的学术资源，系统策划跨界其他的中外当代重要设计师的设计作品展览，追踪当代设计前沿，致力当代文化消费的观念更新，推动文化创意产业的发展，服务全社会的公共文化服务体系。
